Frequently Asked Questions.

Yes. Data from our past clinical experience as well as established scientific literature shows that short-term intensive programs combining pharmacotherapy, ERP, and TMS are highly effective in reducing OCD symptoms and bringing about functional recovery.

Currently, HIT-OCD is being offered at ANC, Gachibowli and cannot be attended online. During the six months extended support period, patients are also required to attend the Clinic for their maintenance DTMS sessions. These are important to preserve therapeutic gains made during the program and prevent relapse. However, follow-up sessions with psychiatrists or psychologists can be attended online.

Gold-standard assessment tools, such as Y-BOCS, are used to assess the severity of OCD symptoms throughout the treatment and follow-up period.

While it is possible to attend HIT alone, it is strongly recommended to bring a family member as family therapy is a part of HIT-OCD. Bringing a loved one can also better ensure adherence to homework tasks and may be helpful in patients' progress at home.

Individuals with the following conditions cannot participate in HIT-OCD:severe cardiac conditions, history of epilepsy or seizures, uncontrolled diabetes, thyroid dysfunction, pregnancy, active psychosis or schizophrenia, active substance use, mania, or high suicidality.

Both DTMS and pharmacotherapy have certain side effects. However, with constant supervision from psychiatrists and psychologists, the chance of adverse effects is minimised.
